Mr. Eylon Penchas
General Managing Partner, Viola Partners
Eylon Penchas has over 20 years of private equity investment experience, including 17 years as Managing Partner of the Viola Partners funds.
In 1998, Mr. Penchas joined the DS Group, where he was responsible for investment banking activities in the field of private placements, mainly for high-tech start-ups. During his tenure with DS, the firm was directly and indirectly responsible for investments in several Israeli high-technology companies.
In 1999, Mr. Penchas joined Aharon and Shlomo Dovrat in the establishment of the Viola Group. In this capacity, he has developed extensive expertise in investment vehicles, including administering and managing complicated investment structures. Mr. Penchas is responsible for executing the investments of Viola Partners as well as for the operational and financial aspects of the Fund. He is a member of the founding teams and investment committees of Viola Partners, and of Viola Credit (formerly called Plenus Venture Lending). He also serves as a board member of some of Viola Partners' portfolio companies.
Eylon led the investment in, and was the Active Chairman of Peninsula Financial Ltd. He led its IPO on the TASE in 2015, and later sold the Fund's stake to a leading Israeli financial institution. He led the investment in and is a board member of Global Data Center Ltd., and was active on the board of Lumenis (Nasdaq: LMNS).
Prior to joining the DS Group, Mr. Penchas served as Director of Business Development for Bezeq - The Israeli Telecommunications Corporation, where he was responsible for the initiation of several multi-million dollar projects in the areas of international telecom services, satellite TV, data networking and electronic commerce. He was also part of the company's corporate strategic team and represented the company on the boards of several of its subsidiaries.
Before embarking on his business career, Eylon achieved the rank of Captain in a reconnaissance unit in the Israel Defense Forces.
Eylon earned a BA in Economics and an MBA with specialization in Finance and Marketing from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
